Surprised by my answer. Quick. Loud. Unfailing.
Silence.
"Did you hear that?" I ask, still shocked. My stupid mouth.
More silence.
Shit.
"I did." comes the delayed response, awkward, like one of those CNN reporters in Baghdad.
"Good. Now don't blow it."
I can hear him smiling.
"Just as long as there's no pressure."

i met a guy once when i was traveling in another country, and because we both knew that i was only going to be there for two weeks, we decided to try and just pretend that we were "married" and spent the days with unlimited love and romance and not a hint of jealousy, judgement or insecurities...
we had the best two weeks of our lives together,
and thats because we knew exactly where we were going, and how and when it was going to end ...
